AllSync 4 Manual

Import Profiles from Older Versions

This feature allows you to import profiles from AllSync version 2 and 3. The import dialog can be accessed via the AllSync menu bar under the 'Extras' menu.

Important Notes:
  • AllSync 2: profiles to be imported must be saved with AllSync 2.7.60 or higher.
  • AllSync 3: profiles to be imported must be saved with AllSync 3.5.134 or higher.
  • To import profiles from a data backup of version 2 or 3, you must first extract the saved ZIP file and then manually select the profile folder contained within.
  • If a profile uses profile chaining, all chained profiles must be located in the same folder path after import as before. Otherwise, the chaining must be reconfigured for each affected profile.
  • Profile log files and reference files are automatically adopted during import and converted to the current format.
  • It is recommended to carefully review the profile properties of each imported profile to ensure all settings were correctly transferred before performing a copy operation.

Location of Profile Files:

Specify the location of the profile folder from AllSync version 2 or 3. AllSync attempts to detect the folder automatically. If unsuccessful, you can manually select the folder using the '...' button.

Profile List

The list displays all found profiles along with their respective folder paths. You can select individual profiles to import using the checkbox in front of the profile name.

Options

  • Import profiles into a new subfolder
The profiles are saved including their folder structure in a new subfolder within the profile list. This prevents existing profiles from being overwritten.
  • Rename profiles if already present
If a profile with the same name already exists, the imported profile will be automatically renamed.
    Example: Backup → Backup (1)
  • Overwrite existing profiles
Profiles with identical names will be replaced by the imported profiles.

Import

Clicking the Import button imports all selected profiles and saves them including their folder structure in the profile list.
